OUR 2026 SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST

CRAIG WINSTON

Craig Winston is a classical guitarist based in Denver, Colorado. He began an intense pursuit of classical music in 2019, culminating with a Master of Music degree from Lamont School of Music in 2023, followed by a busy concert schedule. Craig’s virtuosic performances are elevated by his on-stage charm and engaging storytelling. His 2025 concert program explores the vibrant guitar music of composers from the Americas.

DESERT NIGHT ACOUSTIC MUSIC

SUMMER CAMP     AUGUST 19-23, 2026

with Wil Maring, Robert Bowlin, Chris Sanders and Steve Smith

and guest artist Craig Winston

WE'VE EXTENDED THIS CAMP TO WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH SUNDAY! MORE TIME TO WRITE TUNES AND EXPLORE NOT ONLY GUITAR WITH THE FACULTY, BUT ALSO FIDDLE WITH ROBERT

DNA Music Summer Camp brings Wil Maring (https://wilmaring.com/about) and Robert Bowlin (http://www.robertbowlin.com/about.php) for "more than a guitar camp". Robert, a national guitar champ (and phenomenal fiddler) who has played with the likes of Bill Monroe, and Wil, a celebrated songwriter and guitarist, will join Steve Smith and Chris Sanders for guitar technique, songwriting and ensemble coaching and harmony singing. Chris and Steve have been a performing and writing team for nearly two decades. More info about these two on the DNA Music Camp page. More info about our guest artist classical guitarist Craig Winston at https://craigwinston.net We look forward to exploring ways of collaborating across musical lines and to seeking musical inspiration together.

Get away to the cool beauty you'll find at the edge of the Gila Wilderness at the Black Range Lodge. Wil, Robert, Chris and Steve will be your mountain music guides to guitar discoveries, songs to explore and performance adventures. This camp will include guitar and vocal instruction (including harmonizing), classes in songwriting, and individual and ensemble coaching.

Camp begins at 5pm Wednesday with happy hour and dinner, and ends at a time TBA on Sunday. Look for a complete schedule as camp approaches; now is a great time to reserve your place at the Lodge and register for the camp (see the form below.) Tuition for the 2026 Summer Camp is $390.

Catherine and Gary and the stellar staff at the Black Range Lodge always provide wonderful hospitality, delicious home-cooked food, and the best in rustic luxury lodging.  Contact Catherine directly for room or camping space and meal reservations at 575-895-5652 or cat@blackrangelodge.com
